CRR Conference 2009:
"Responsible Leadership"
7-9 September 2009
University of Vaasa
Finland
Organized and hosted by the University of Vaasa in association with Queen’s University Management School, University of Leeds and ERP Environment.
We are pleased to announce the 2009 CRR conference. The conference has evolved to reflect the current corporate environment and seeks research papers from a wide field of corporate responsibility. Research in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability today looks back on a tradition spanning several decades. Especially in recent years the interest in corporate responsibility and sustainability has accelerated at an unprecedented pace.
Yet actions often lag behind words. In serious situations, when responsible corporate leadership would be needed, there may not be anyone to take charge and turn the words of responsibility into action. This problem is evident in many environmental responsibility issues, such as climate change; economic responsibility issues, such as the bank crises; and socio-cultural responsibility issues, such as the rights of indigenous peoples.
We welcome research papers from all fields of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. We challenge all participants to consider how their findings can become examples of responsible leadership.
Topics include but are not limited to:
Responsible Leadership | CR in developing countries |
CR innovations | Responsible accounting and reporting |
CR & diversity | Ethical and fair trade |
CR in global economy | Corporate governance |
CR in supply chains | SMEs & CR |
Business ethics & NGOs | CR standards & tools |
Corporate sustainability management | Corporate social and cultural responsibility |
Sustainable entrepreneurship | Ethical consumers |

Keynote speeches will start the PhD Workshop on afternoon of 7 September. All PhD students will be provided with feedback from a panel of experienced PhD student supervisors in the field.
