Pre-conference Events
This year we will organize two pre-conference activities on the afternoon of 15 September 2014, our PhD Workshop and a Research Funding and Networking Workshop. Both events will run from 3-6pm at Devonshire Hall, with registration possible from 2pm onwards. There will be an open bar right afterwards, before we move on to Leeds city centre for dinner at around 7pm (transport from Devonshire Hall to the dinner venue will be provided).
The PhD workshop aims to help PhD researchers with their projects. Interactive sessions with experienced international supervisors will discuss the solutions to problems with corporate responsibility research methodologies and surviving the viva examination. For research methods, you will hear a short presentation, followed by some group work to generate questions that a panel answers. For vivas, there is a panel discussion followed by questions.
There will also be a chance to meet and discuss research projects with other PhD researchers.
All papers including those of PhD candidates will be presented in the regular sessions - not in this PhD workshop.
We will be running a Research Funding and Networking Workshop for the first time this year. Its aim is twofold: (a) to provide information on current and upcoming funding opportunities such as Horizon 2020; and (b) to provide a forum for CRRC participants to exchange and discuss funding ideas and to share information more generally.
There will be external speakers, but in essence the workshop will be very interactive and draw from the participants’ experiences.
